Brown hat-trick in Tavern’s 10th win on trot

JAMES Hendry was the Bullcroft Sports & Pastimes hero as they opened up a four-point gap at the top of the Doncaster Sunday Alliance Premier Division after winning 1-0 at second-placed Athletico Parklands.

Bentley Top Club were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Armthorpe Coronation, for whom Lee Drobac netted.

FC Dunscroft posted a 4-2 win over visiting Acorn thanks to goals by Carl Grant (2), Jordan Irwin and Luke Brownbridge. Craig Trewic and Lee Hughes shared out the Acorn goals. Unbeaten Championship leaders Canal Tavern recorded a 10th successive win with a 6-1 home win over Sprotbrough.

Darren Brown notched a hat-trick with Darren Fell (2) and Adam Freeborn also chipping in with goals.

AFC Rovers continue to head the chasing pack after beating third-placed Armthorpe 2-0. Conisbrough Conyers, who have games in hand over all the teams above them, climbed into fourth place after powering their way to a 6-1 win over Auckley.

Corner Pin and Toll Bar battled out a 4-4 draw.

Carcroft Village (Joe Brace, Lee Wright) beat Askern Railway by the odd goal in three.

Eden Grove, for whom Peter Walmsley (2), Patrick Ziman and Robert Mahon netted, beat Finningley Athletic (Ben Hunter 2, Jack Kennedy) by the odd goal in seven.

Stainforth and Styrupp contested a goalless draw.
