Reds ponder new loan deal for Addison
Barnsley FC
BARNSLEY are considering whether to sign Derby County loan defender Miles Addison for longer.
Addison’s one-month loan deal expires on January 28 and, with the Reds without a match this Saturday the 23-year-old has technically played his last game for Barnsley.
But Reds director Don Rowing told The Star: “We’re leaving our options open with Miles Addison.
“He’s obviously not going to be able to play against Derby (Jan 31). He’s played more games in the last month since we re-signed him, but it’s down to Keith [Hill] whether he wants to keep him.”
Addison initially signed for the Reds on a six-month loan deal, but he struggled with injuries and made just nine appearances during that spell. But Hill signed him on a further short-term loan on January 2, with the former England Under-21 international having started all four fixtures - against Doncaster, Swansea, Leicester and Millwall - since his return.
He was booked in each of those games, so if he returns will be one more caution short of to a one-match ban.
