Reds keeper heads back to Germany
Barnsley's German goalkeeper, Heinz Muller, is due to sign for newly-promoted Bundesliga side FSV Mainz 05 next week.
The 31-year-old has agreed a lucrative three-year deal with the Rhinehessen side.
Muller is still under contract at Oakwell, but Mainz are said to have agreed a fee of 430,000.
The Reds acquired the 6ft 5in Frankfurt-born goalie from Norwegian side Lillestrom in August, 2007
Mainz general manager Christian Heidel told Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper: "Everything is said, this is a done deal."
The Star revealed Muller was on his way on Tuesday.
Barnsley goalie Luke Steele had previously signed a new two-year contract with the club, saying last week: "It's great to have signed a new deal, I want to be the No 1 keeper at this club."
Jon Macken has signed a one-year extension to his contract.
The former Manchester City player has made 75 appearances for the Reds scoring 17 goals in the process.
Manager Simon Davey said, "Jon is an important member of our squad and has proved that with 17 goals in the last two seasons for us."
Macken said: "I told the manager at the end of the season, and all my family knew, I wanted to stay here, so it is great to get it all signed."
