Muller back in the fold
BARNSLEY goalkeeper Heinz Muller will end his injury exile from football tomorrow.
The German, who was having a sensational debut season in English football until it was cut short in January, will start the in reserves against Rotherham United at 7pm at Oakwell.
Manager Simon Davey said: "He'll play the first 45 minutes and maybe the full 90, we'll leave it up to him,"
Muller underwent surgery in Germany to repair knee ligaments seven months ago.
He has been training for weeks back at Oakwell but not risked in a game so far.
Davey added another name to his injury concerns yesterday as Diego Leon sat out training with a groin injury.
Meanwhile, the Barnsley boss has admitted his team could be transformed in the coming weeks.
He said: "I won't harp on about the four missing players who would probably be in our starting 11, but what I'll say is that when Heinz Muller is back fully fit, when Hugo Colace's got clearance, Anderson de Silva's fit, Jamal Campbell-Ryce is fit, Iain Hume is available, Maceo Rigters is available, that gives you four or five in the side or puts a little bit more pressure on the players who are."
He added that 'we were down to the basic 16' for the game at Birmingham on Saturday and that teenage academy striker Jamil Adam was almost called into the squad as cover.
Davey said: "That's football and we have to deal with it. The players I put out on the pitch at Birmingham, I felt were good enough."
Davey started the game at St Andrews with only Jon Macken playing as a striker.
In the second half and trailing 2-0 he brought on Kayode Odejayi and gave Miguel Mostto his first appearance in the Championship since January.
n Sheffield United could be poised to sell Chris Armstrong to Championship rivals Reading for a reported 750,000.
Reading's interest in Armstrong appears to have intensified following claims that Southampton's Andrew Surman, Steve Coppell's preferred choice to fill the vacancy which exists for a full-back at the Madejski Stadium, could cost over 2m.
Blackwell denied last week that Coppell had submitted a bid for the ex-England youth international and insisted that players would only leave Bramall Lane on his terms.
