McIndoe 'not on our radar' says Reds boss
BARNSLEY boss Simon Davey has poured cold water on rumours that he is set to sign former Red Michael McIndoe.
McIndoe, who left Oakwell to try to pursue Premier League football, is rumoured to be on the verge of leaving Bristol City this summer.
But Davey told The Star: "I've not spoken to him (Michael), he's not a player on our radar.
"He left the club the day I was appointed caretaker manager. He's a good player, so I'm not saying he wouldn't interest me, but he's not a player I've inquired about."
Davey also revealed that the Robins have not come back to him after he rejected two bids for Anderson De Silva, the club's popular Brazilian midfielder. City boss Gary Johnson had two bids turned down for the player and has yet to return with an improved offer for the Reds playmaker.
"They've (Bristol) not come back to us with another offer, nothing's happening there at the moment," added Davey.
But Davey did admit he is still pursuing his interest in highly-rated Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam, a player who has impressed both in Scotland and while on loan to Blackpool last season.
"He's (Charlie] is still a player we're interested in, we're still talking to Rangers," said the Welshman.
"In all honesty it's (the transfer market] very slow at the moment, this is probably the slowest pre-season I've known.
"A lot of managers don't want to do business at the moment, so we've to be patient.
"I want to get some more players in before the season starts, but the important thing is not to panic because we've got a good core of a squad - and we've still got time to get a few additions."
Meanwhile, the Reds have appointed Stuart Gibson as a new development coach at the club.
Gibson, a former manager of Steinkjer FK in Norway, holds the UEFA 'A' licence coaching badge and spent five years working in youth set up at fellow Championship side Plymouth Argyle.
