In-form Hammill happy to stay at Reds
BARNSLEY winger Adam Hammill is believed to have attracted the interest of both Bolton Wanderers and Blackpool.
Both Premiership clubs were rumoured to be keen to secure the former Liverpool midfielder's signature.
But the 22-year-old has stressed that he doesn't want to leave Oakwell and is enjoying working under manager Mark Robins.
"I spoke to the gaffer and he said their had been interest in me, but to be honest I don't want to leave the club because I'm enjoying playing at Barnsley," Hammill told The Star.
"I'm enjoying working under Mark, we play football the right way and he's given me the license to run at defenders which is what I like doing.
"He's brought a lot of quality players in this season and I really do think we can achieve something special if we can find the consistency we're looking for.
"I really want to spend another season in the Championship and show what I can do. I'm really enjoying it, I'm learning all the time."
Hammill scored a brilliant solo goal as the Tykes beat promotion favourites Middlesbrough 2-0 at home on for the second year on the trot on Saturday. This has taken the midfielder's tally to two goals in his last two games.
"I'd love to reach double figures this season and show the fans what I'm capable of. I don't think they've seen the best of me yet," added Hammill. "I think I'm getting better and I'm working really hard on the defensive side of my game.
"Last season I'd be having to sprint an extra 20 yards to get back into position because I'd been lazy, which meant I wasn't conserving energy.
"But I've spoken to the gaffer and he's helping get back into the right position. I'm also working hard on establishing a good partnership with Jay (McEveley].
"Jay's great for me because he's played at the top level and has so much experience. He's always advising where to be - and always listen to what he's got to say because he's a very good player.
"It's about anticipation as well as defending. I'm learning all the time and trying to become more of a complete player."
