Bookes make Blades odds-on to hit Yeovil with at least two goals

Nick Blackman

Nick Blackman

SHEFFIELD United have struck a dozen times in their last five league and cup outings at an average of over two per game and bet365 offer odds of 8/11 about the Blades bagging at least a couple of goals as they tackle Yeovil.

The Glovers have one of the worst away defences in League One so some United fans might fancy their side to notch three times or more (9/4, Ladbrokes) and a strong case can also be made for a match tally of at least three goals, an outcome Stan James price at 4/6.

Having each scored in the last two matches for Danny Wilson’s men, Nick Blackman and Dave Kitson are likely to attract the bulk of the first scorer cash. The former is a 9/2 chance at Skybet while William Hill post identical odds against Kitson. Tony McMahon, who has fired three goals in four games, is 25/1 (Paddy Power) for the opener.

Sheffield Wednesday’s last six fixtures have yielded just six goals and the Owls have drawn a blank in their last three. Stan James’ 10/11 at Hull to generate fewer than three goals catches the eye.

Bet365 make Chris Maguire 12/1 to break the deadlock and his strike partner in last week’s cup draw with MK Dons, Mamady Sidibe, is an 11/1 chance in the same market, this time with BetVictor.

At Oakwell, Barnsley’s Chris Dagnall is 7/1 (Stan James) to hand the Tykes a 1-0 lead against Leeds and bet365 rate David Cotterill at 9/1 to score first as Doncaster visit Stevenage.

In League Two, BetVictor chalk Daniel Nardiello up at 19/5 to fire the opening goal for Rotherham against Barnet while Skybet make Jack Lester 11/2 to do likewise as Chesterfield entertain Northampton.
