Betting: Blades seeking Royals removal

Non-League

Non-League

SHEFFIELD United are unbeaten in five meetings against Reading but that sequence of matches all took place in the Championship and since the last of those clashes, in April 2011, the teams have gone in opposite directions.

Subsequently, the Premier League hosts are strong favourites at 7/10 with BetVictor while Stan James price the Blades at 24/5 to belie their League One status as the pair face-off again, this time for a place in the FA Cup fifth round.

Already eliminated from the cup, Sheffield Wednesday continue their battle to avoid the drop but they are underdogs at 5/2 courtesy of Ladbrokes as they make the trip to Charlton. The Addicks, a 13/10 chance at BetVictor, have won three Championship games on the spin so it’s easy to see why bookies expect them to prevail and on the basis of the hosts’ form, a point (12/5, Stan James) wouldn’t be a bad return for the Owls.

Barnsley face a tricky away trip in the FA Cup at Hull City. They are at least up against opposition from the same division and Stan James make them 14/5 to keep the tie alive by bringing it back to Oakwell.

In League Two, Paddy Power rate Rotherham at 8/15 to boost their promotion hopes by beating the visiting Bristol Rovers and bet365 have installed Chesterfield as 7/5 favourites to overcome Southend.
