BARNSLEY boss Keith Hill has called for his misfiring side to rediscover their “coolness” and ‘composure” in front of goal.
The Reds face Watford at Vicarage Road tomorrow (Saturday) looking to end an unenviable run of eight Championship matches without a win.
And Hill knows that results need to start going right to avoid any more pressure being heaped on him and his players as the Reds try and haul themselves away from the wrong end of the table.
“It’s the end goal which is missing from everything,” Hill told The Star.
“It’s a results business, but there’s not much more we can do at the moment.
“But we do need composure in front of goal – and a coolness. We’ve got to show a coolness against different opposition and really make our chances count.
“Sometimes you’ve got to be stone cold in some instances, almost ghostly-like in our pursuit of scoring goals.
“But I know we’re not the only club struggling. Other clubs are going through the same processes.
“We’ve just got to hope things work out right for us.
“We’ve still got 27 games to achieve our objective this season and 81 points to play for, so there’s still a long way to go.”
The Reds are without the injured David Perkins and Paul Digby this weekend, but there are no injury worries from Tuesday night’s 1-1 home draw with Burnley.
Meanwhile, Lee Collins has returned from his loan spell with League One Shrewsbury.
Defender Collins started 10 times in as many appearances for the Shrews but the club have not take up the option to extend his deal.
