Barnsley: New-boy Hemmings hopes to hit the ground running

NEW Barnsley signing Kane Hemmings is aiming to be a big hit at Oakwell.

The highly-rated 22-year-old striker, who scored 24 goals in 39 appearances last season, joined the Reds on a one-year deal yesterday from Scottish Championship outfit Cowdenbeath.

But the lure of playing in the English third tier saw Hemmings, who won last season’s Scottish Championship Player of the Year award, decide to head south to try and further his career.
