BARNSLEY boss David Flitcroft deserves a lie down after his hard work has helped lift the Championship club out of the relegation zone.

And Flitcroft did exactly that following Tuesday night’s battling 2-1 victory over Wolves at Oakwell.

Having applauded the home fans, Flitcroft had a bit of fun pitch on his walk back to the dressing room tunnel by lying on a St John’s Ambulance stretcher which had been left by the side of the pitch.

“I really could do with a lie down, I’ve not slept too well,” joked Flitcroft, whose on-song side are unbeaten in their last NINE games and play Premier League Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals next month.

“Having got an incredible cup tie I’ve had to put my feet on the ground, I’ve not slept much” he said.

“On Sunday night I dreamed I knew the Wolves team and I had Sylvan Ebanks-Blake linking up with Sergio Agureo, and Yaya Toure linking up with Karl Henry. It was the maddest night’s sleep I’ve ever had.”
