Bank on Wednesday to defeat relegation strugglers at Hillsboro’

THIRD-placed Sheffield Wednesday have lost just one of their 13 home matches in League One this season so it’s perhaps no surprise that they’re considered emphatic favourites at 8/15 by Betfred ahead of the visit of struggling Yeovil.

The Glovers, Ladbrokes’ 6/1 outsiders, have managed just one win on the road but they have shared the spoils over half of their away matches, which could push one or two punters towards the stalemate at 10/3 (BetVictor), especially as the Owls have drawn three of their last league and cup games.

Blue Square offer 13/5 for Wednesday to sneak it by a one goal margin and it’s 13/2 via Boylesports for Megson’s troops to register a 1-0 success, however, five of the Owls’ nine home wins have been more comfortable so it could be worth backing them in Stan James’ handicaps at 11/8, when kicking off a goal in arrears.

Sheffield United have suffered back-to-back defeats in league and cup but have given a decent account of themselves despite the results, so their form shouldn’t discourage punters from backing them at 5/4 with bet365 to get back to winning ways at Colchester.

Danny Wilson’s side are a 3/1 chance via Paddy Power to win by one while Betfred chalk 8/1 against a 2-1 away win and it’s 9/2 (Partybets) for the Blades to collect a maximum haul despite going in on level terms at the interval.

In the Championship, Barnsley are 13/5 with BetVictor to pick up all three points for the second away match in a row, as they head to Watford while struggling Doncaster have played out two goalless draws in their last three and they’re 10/1 (Boylesports) to manage another at home to Reading.
