Flying Aussie Ryan Williams is determined to just keep getting better and better now that he has extended his loan stay at Oakwell.
Wing-man Williams (21) had his best game in Reds shirt on Saturday in the 1-0 derby win at Bramall Lane, in what was his sixth appearance since securing a temporary switch from Fulham on October 2.
It’s all about keeping the impressive momentum going now as Barnsley gear up for Saturday’s FA Cup showdown with Burton Albion.
Williams said: “I’m feeling a lot fitter and lot stronger with every game I play, so hopefully there’s a lot more to come from me.
“Barnsley have offered me this opportunity to play week in, week out, and I am grateful for that.
“Opportunities are not really there for me at Fulham, so get these games in at a decent level like this is only going to help me.”
Williams insists defeating the Blades proves once again that the Reds have what it takes to be a force in Sky Bet League One.
He added: “We showed in the second half we’re capable of grinding out results.
“We haven’t been doing that so much in recent games. We’ve been letting teams get back into games after being one or even two goals up.
“It showed that we have been working on things, and they certainly worked on Saturday.”
Barnsley’s U21 outfit recorded their first win of the season yesterday as goals from Nana Boakye-Yiadom and Paul Digby saw them beat Coventry 2-1.
