DERBY County’s Miles Addison has joined Barnsley on loan until January 1, writes Neil Goulding.

The versatile defender/midfielder is Keith Hill’s fifth signing since taking charge last month.

Chesterfield striker Craig Davies, Colchester midfielder David Perskins and Rochdale defender Scott Wiseman and midfielder Matt Done have already been signed up on permanent deals.

And Hill is also hoping to land Brighton and Hove Albion left-back James McNulty to bolster his squad ahead of the new Championship season, which kicks off at the start of August.

“Competition for places is good, but it’s obvious as well,” Hill told the Star. “I don’t have favourites, but if I’m happy with players who are playing well.

“Everyone is going to get a chance with me, it’s up to the players to perform and to earn a starting place. No one will be guaranteed a place if they’re not performing.”
