BARNSLEY’S youngsters have a great incentive when they run out at Oakwell tonight in the FA Youth Cup.

For they could be heading for a “glamour” tie at Stamford Bridge in the next round and a date with the current holders Chelsea.

Firstly, Barnsley have to see off Rushden and Diamonds in the fourth round tie tonight at Oakwell (7pm) and they will note that Rushden pulled off a surprise result in the last round when winning 3-2 at Hull City.

Barnsley themselves produced a stunning result in the last round when they beat Spurs 3-1 at Oakwell thanks to an outstanding all-round performance which was sparked off by a brilliant opening goal from striker Danny Rose.

Scorer for Spurs that night was England youth international Harry Kane who has just gone on loan to Leyton Orient and scored the second goal in their 4-0 defeat of Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Chelsea beat Arsenal in the previous round thanks to two goals from Milan Lalkovic.
