THE BOOKIES VIEW: Will you back Wednesday to go up?

Have your say

Gary Megson is now the new boss at Hillsborough and that was a terrific result for us.

It’s pretty unusual for us to have a good winner on manager markets but this was a great result. We had him in as favourite all along, and I did tip you lot the wink a few weeks ago by saying that we had had requests to back him back then.

Anyway most Owls fans were up for backing anyone but Megson. We made a good profit and fair play to the Blades fans, they really did get stuck in. It was very busy.

Now the question is whether Megson can galvanise the troops and get Wednesday up?

We were giving 8/1 on Wednesday going up this season but we’ve decided to offer the best price of 11/1, so if you picked the wrong manager and lost your money you can now try and get it back. The Owls are also 2/1 to finish in the Top Six. It’s going to be an interesting run in!

The ink has hardly dried yet on Micky Adams’ contract yet the talk is all about him getting the can already!

It’s pretty unbelievable, but things haven’t been exactly rosy for the man since he took over.

He needs a win and I have to say that Millwall at home on Saturday looks a very good opportunity.

I’m not convinced about Millwall, and their away form is very patchy.

The Blades are 15/8 and that’s big. Logic says they are due a win and this looks a bet.

By the way we are 6/4 that they get relegated and 1/2 that they stay up. And if you really think that Adams is on death row already then you can back him at 4/1 to be gone by the end of the season.

I’m out to get Barnsley against Ipswich on Saturday. We’ve gone a best priced 8/5 about them, not because we are anti Tykes, it’s because we are pro Ipswich at the moment. They are on a real roll at the moment, and I’d recommend you keep following them.

Lastly Sean O’Driscoll has been linked with another manager’s job again. He is 33/1 for the West Brom job, but it would be best that you keep you hands in your pockets on that one.
