BARNSLEY director Barry Taylor has made the unusual step of issuing a statement on the club’s official website to explain the role of the club’s board of directors.
“A football clubs’ board of directors get little credit when things are going well, but plenty of flak when they are not,” revealed Taylor.
“We have undoubtedly made some bad decisions down the years and will probably make some more despite our best endeavours, but the challenge for anyone coming in [as a possible new director] is can you bring the experience that will make the club more successful and/or have some financial clout that you can offer the club?
“In our community no-one has formed the view that they can meet this challenge. However, we do remain on the lookout for passing oil sheiks.”
