BARNSLEY owner Patrick Cryne has been contemplating selling the football club for the past couple of months.
Local businessman Cryne bought the club in 2004, but The Star has discovered he has held talks about selling the club after seven years because of health problems.
Speaking exclusively to The Star, Reds director Don Rowing confirmed that Cryne has been in discussions about seling up.
“He’s [Patrick] been considering his decision,” said Rowing.“Patrick’s got health issues and we’ve been in regular contact about what he’s going to do.
“But at this time we just want to give him time and space to let him decide what he wants to do.”
