BARNSLEY boss Keith Hill believes “negativity” from some supporters could hinder the club’s progress this season.
Craig Davies’ 74th minute goal, his first for the club, looked to have earned them a point on Saturday.
But Nicky Maynard lashed home in the 92nd minute to inflict a second successive defeat on the Reds.
“My only fear is the players because their pride’s injured, self-doubt has kicked in a little bit and that doubt has been backed up by the supporters doubt, Hill told The Star. “It can go really bad if we don’t get that support to give the players confidence.”
The Reds host Hull tomorrow, with Bobby Hassell possibly back from injury.
