Barnsley went into tonight’s game looking to bounce back from that six gial mauling by Charlton.
But the Reds were without experienced defender Stephen Foster, ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a calf tear sustained in Saturday’s home defeat.
Boss David Flitcroft approached the game in a positive frame of mind though he acknowledged that his side have a massive fight on their hands to stave off relegation.
Flitcroft, boosted by the return of Martin Cranie who has recovered from a hamstring injury, predicts that the relegation fight will go down to the wire. He forecast upsets and turbulences in the remaining games.
Cranie was instantly in the action, earning a free kick after being fouled by Mason Bennett, before blocking a shot from Chris Martin.
The Reds made a change as early as the 32md minute with Andrai Jones replacing Bobby Hassell.
Chris O’Grady had a shot saved by Frank Fielding eight minutes before half-time as the Reds attempted to find a way to break the deadlock.
