There’s only one word you can use to describe Barnsley’s season so far – and that’s poor.
And the stats don’t lie after a miserable start to the Championship season.
The club made their worst league start for 54 years under former boss David Flitcroft.
And ‘Flicker’, as he liked to be called, paid the ultimate price when he was understandably sacked on November 30 with the club rooted to the foot of the table after a dismal run of results.
There was no argument that Flitcroft did an unbelievable job in somehow keeping the club up on the last day of the previous season. That was a miracle and he deserved the credit for it. But unfortunately for Reds fans the club have not kicked on this season with hopes of a rise to mid-table security anticipated.
