Chesterfield, Barnsley and Doncaster have all had their promotion odds trimmed following victories over the weekend but Sheffield United remain ahead of the trio in the Sky Bet League 1 betting.
The Blades have been pushed out from 2/1 to 5/2 to go up after enduring a 3-2 loss to the Spireites on Saturday, failing to record another comeback victory after slipping 3-0 down before producing a late goal flurry.
That result propelled Paul Cook’s men into the play-offs and the Football League sponsor Sky Bet have reacted by cutting their promotion odds from 8/1 to 6/1.
Meanwhile, Eoin Doyle continues to make a mockery of his pre-season top goalscorer odds of 100/1, having been cut to 5/2 after netting his 13th goal of the campaign.
Sky Bet report that one punter has a £40 bet riding on Doyle, with a £4,000 windfall looking more likely by the week.
Meanwhile, Barnsley (7/1) and Doncaster (10/1) also saw their odds cut after respective wins at Rochdale and Scunthorpe, while they are both out to 8/1 for relegation.
In the Sky Bet Championship, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham both enjoyed creditable draws, with the Millers’ especially impressive given their hosts Norwich are favourites for promotion following a series of comeback wins.
Those stalemates result in little change in the betting, with the Millers fifth favourites for relegation at 11/4 while the Owls are given a 9/1 chance of playing Premier League football next season.
