Late United revival to count for nothing

Have your say

Is it really possible that Sheffield United survive relegation this season?

Well I, Victor Chandler, don’t think so and you can back the Blades at 25/1 with us to stay up.

First up they have to not just win against Barnsley but win by a hatful and then they must go to Swansea and win there and that won’t be easy. I suspect they will win on Saturday and we are 21/20, but if you really believe the great escape is on then back 4-0 at 40/1, 5-0 at 125/1 and 6-0 at 150/1.

It is going to take a scoreline like this for them to survive. Blades fans must be holding their heads in their hands after seeing the team suddenly burst into life, and knowing that it has all come just a little bit too late.

Wednesday fans will be licking their lips at renewing the old rivalry next season and they will want to wind their campaign down with a couple of good performances.

They travel to Bristol Rovers and I suspect they might have a squeak of picking up a result here. The reason is simple. Rovers are desperate for a result to get them out of going down and they will be under pressure.

Wednesday have no pressure and will go into the match in decent form and very little to lose. Add into the mix the fact that there will be a lot of Owls fans there to cheer them on and the 15/8 on them to win looks very tasty. I certainly wouldn’t touch Rovers at 13/10.

Chesterfield could lose out on finishing the season as champions as they have tricky matches against Torquay and Gillingham who both have play-off chances and much to play for. It’s now 2/5 that they go up as Champions and 7/4 that Bury do instead.

Look out for some special bets next week on Wednesday, United and Chesterfield in League One next season.
