BARNSLEY boss Keith Hill wants to sign two new players before the loan deadline closes at 5pm on Thursday 24 November.
Manchester United midfielder Danny Drinkwater is on loan at Oakwell until January 2, with Derby County midfielder Miles Addison at the club until December 31.
But Middlesbrough winger Cameron Park has returned to the Riverside two weeks early having had limited opportunities in the Reds’ first team.
The 19-year-old made just one start and two substitute appearances during a two and a half month tenure.
And despite having an almost fully fit squad, Hill wants reinforcements with pending suspensions and potential injuries expected during the next couple of months.
“I’d like a striker and a utility man,” Hill told The Star. “I’m looking to get two new players in this week, but they have to be the right players and fit the Keith Hill DNA.”
Striker Andy Gray, who has scored four goals this season, has four bookings and is one caution away from an automatic one-match suspension.
Drinkwater will miss the Reds’ next game, Saturday’s Oakwell derby against Doncaster Rovers, having picked up five yellow cards.
And winger Jim O’Brien has already missed one match having accrued five bookings.
Striker Danny Haynes is working hard to retain his match fitness following a frustrating hamstring injury, while defender Bobby Hassell (groin) and midfielders Goran Lovre (knee) and Reuben Noble-Lazarus (ankle) have all recovered.
