BARNSLEY boss Mark Robins has admitted he is trying hard to replace Adam Hammill, his star player who left for Wolves this season.
Hammill, despite having left in January, is still the Reds’ leading scorer with eight goals. And although Robins brought in Bristol City’s Danny Haynes, Hammill’s talents have been missed.
He said: “I know I need to try and replace Adam Hammill, but unfortunately there aren’t too many players about under £3 million that could do that. Having lost him in the summer, Danny was not a direct replacement. But he was accessible; we knew he would add some goals to the equation having lost those from Adam.
“We had to go a different way and three strikers became a better option”
