BARNSLEY defender Stephen Foster is confident the Oakwell club can blossom under tmanagement duo of Keith Hill and David Flitcroft.
Foster has been a regular in the Reds’ starting line-up, with a number of his solid displays at the back having been shadowed by man of the moment Jacob Butterfield.
Butterfield’s impressive form earned him his first international call-up to the England Under-21 side.
Foster has just got on with business as usual, having struck up decent partnerships with Jimmy McNulty and Rob Edwards in the centre of defence.
“There’s no point being in a team if you don’t aspire to impress,” said Foster. “I’m 31 years old now and I’m still looking to improve.
“It inspires me the fact we’ve got a small budget. We’ve got a smaller budget than a lot of clubs, but if we do achieve in this league, whether that’s pushing ourselves right up there or surviving, then we’ll have done really well.
“We need to stay in the division. Wanting to stay in the league is our priority. Once you’ve got those points on board you can see how far you can go.”
