Defender Stephen Foster is unlikely to play for Barnsley in tomorrow night’s clash at Millwall.
The former Reds’ skipper had seven stitches to a shin injury sustained in Tuesday’s win at Doncaster Rovers. It comes as a blow to boss Mark Robins and his team-mates having only just returned from suspension. “Stephen is not going to play but I’m not worried because we have options for a replacement,” said the manager.
Midfielder Nathan Doyle and full-back Bobby Hassell both played as makeshift centre backs in the draw with Swansea City. “They did a brilliant job, but so did all the other players when it was a case of needs-must against Swansea,” added Robins. “Team spirit is very good; everyone was really pleased with our very performance against Doncaster. They’re a really good passing side and I thought we coped with their threats very well. Danny Haynes’ goal was a real tonic for him and the team. He could have had a hat-trick. We could have won by three or four.”
