Craig Davies has checked into Oakwell - and Barnsley fans hope he’s brought his goals with him.

As The Star exclusively predicted yesterday, the 23-goal Chesterfield striker has penned a pre-contract agreement to play for the Championship side (see Page 37.)

Meanwhile, ex-Reds boss Mark Robins has applied to become Cardiff City manager.

Robins resigned as the Reds’ boss last month and has been replaced by Keith Hill.Robins applied to be Sheffield United’s new boss but was pipped by Danny Wilson.

“I’m very interested in the Cardiff job,” said Robins. “It’s one of the best available in football at the moment. It’s a very exciting challenge.”
