BARNSLEY boss Mark Robins called for his side to rediscover some “brightness” having been kept in the dark in a disappointing defeat to Portsmouth at the weekend.
An 85th minute winner from former Arsenal hitman Kanu was the difference between the two sides in a 1-0 loss at Fratton Park, but the Reds also showed a distinct lack of punch up front.
‘There was not enough brightness to get a goal,” said Robins. “We’ve conceded a goal in the 85th minute – and it’s a difficult way back from there.
“We were throwing bodies forward then and we lacked a little bit of idea up front. It looked that we were just hoping that we might get a goal rather than making it happen.”
