Fulham winger Ryan Williams is expected to join Barnsley tonight on a one-month loan deal.
The highly-rated 20-year-old impressed on loan at Oxford United last season and is hungry to get more first-team experience under his belt.
Williams signed a new two-year contract extension with Fulham in May this year and is likely to go straight into manager Danny Wilson’s squad for Saturday’s away clash with Rochdale at Spotland.
“We need a bit more strength and he’s someone I like a lot,” revealed Wilson, speaking exclusively to The Star.
“He’s quick and direct, and he can play in a number of positions. It’s great to have signed him.”
The Reds were also today linked with a move to sign another Fulham player, with striker Marcello Trotto rumoured to be a potential target.
The Italy Under-21 international has been on loan with three other clubs and is also keen to play as many first team games as he can having found himself surplus to requirements at Craven Cottage this term.
Meanwhile, Reds’ boss Wilson has also told The Star that he would like to sign TWO more players to strengthen his squad.
The club have slipped to 21st in League One and Wilson is desperate to turn things around at Oakwell.
