Southampton midfielder Lloyd Isgrove would consider returning to Barnsley if a deal can be struck between the two clubs.
Isgrove sparkled while on loan with the Reds last season as they secured a memorable promotion back to the Championship and won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
And now the 23-year-old, who has one year left on his contract with the Saints, is potentially eyeing up another extended run at Oakwell.
“Obviously I’ve got another year there [Southampton], but we’ll see what happens in the summer,” revealed Isgrove.
“But it’s been a great season and I’m happy I’ve been able to help Barnsley get back in the Championship.
“I’ll assess my options definitely [about coming back]. If they come in for me and the offer’s right they’ll have to speak to Southampton, but I don’t see why not.”
Isgrove was a key performer for the Reds last season and played 36 times during a season which ultimately ended with an incredible Wembley double for the South Yorkshire club.
And alongside fellow loan stars Ashley Fletcher, Josh Brownhill, Ivan Toney and Aidy White, Isgrove showed why Southampton rate him so highly.
Barnsley deservedly beat Oxford United 3-2 in the JPT final and their season got even better as they defeated Millwall in the League One Play-Off final last month to seal their Championship return.
