Barnsley manager Danny Wilson hopes next season is a “new dawn” for the South Yorkshire club.
Wilson and his charges are facing up to life in League One this term after last season’s relegation from the Championship.
And with budgets slashed - and a string of influential players having already left - Wilson hopes to reshape his Reds’ side for a brighter future.
“It’s a new era, a new dawn for the club,” said Wilson.
“Hopefully the new players we sign will excite our supporters. Hopefully they’re players who will put them on the edge of their seats.
“It was tough for our supporters last season, but it’s a new season and a new league and I hope they get right behind us like they did last year.
“Let’s hope we can give them what they want. It’s not going to happen overnight, so they’ll have to be patient, but we’re working hard to build for the future.”
Wilson has stressed that now is the time for youth to shine at Oakwell.
