BARNSLEY central defender Stephen Foster has accepted a new one-year contract at the club.
Meanwhile winger Jim O’Brien has been offered a new two-year deal to remain at Oakwell.
Foster has been a mainstay in the Reds team this season, having made 42 appearances, predominantly alongside Jimmy McNulty in central defence.
The former Burnley and Crewe man is delighted to have extended his stay at the club for a sixth season.
“It’s great to have agreed a new deal, I’m really happy at the club,” Foster told The Star.
“It’s been a tough season and it’s no secret that confidence has been low over the last couple of months because results haven’t gone our way, but we need to put this season to bed now and be happy we’ve retained our Championship status.
“I enjoy playing for the club and have some fond memories. Next season will be another big challenge, but one we’re all looking forward to.”
