Barnsley midfielder David Perkins is quietly confident the club can claim their first win of the season away to Blackburn Rovers today.
And Perkins believes the Reds “won’t be too scared” of upsetting their hosts on their own patch.
Perkins limped off with a knee injury in the first half of last Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with Charlton Athletic.
But the former Morecambe, Rochdale and Colchester United midfielder is fit and ready to return to the first team fray in time for the Reds’ away clash at Ewood Park.
“We’ve had a slow start to the season, which is a bit frustrating,” said Perkins. “But I think our performances have been good apart from our defeat to Wigan.
“Not being too disrespectful of Blackburn, but you look at their team and you won’t be too scared of it.
“They’ve got one or two good players.
“But compared to a Blackburn side of the past we feel as we get can something from the game.
“We’ve just got to go about our business and get the win we want on Saturday.
“Getting your first win of the season is massive, there’s no doubt about it.”
Rovers signed ex-Blades defender Matthew Kilgallon on a free transfer from Sunderland in the summer but he is now out injured.
