Barnsley winger Paddy McCourt believes his best is yet to come.
He has been nursing a glute injury in the Reds’ last couple of fixtures.
But McCourt expects to come back stronger and fitter after the international break that follows today’s derby clash with Doncaster Rovers at Oakwell.
“Once I get my injury sorted then hopefully there’s a lot more to come,” said McCourt.
“I’ve just been managing it these last few weeks. I’ve not been able to train as much as I’ve wanted to over the last few weeks, but I’m getting through games fairly well.
“Towards the latter part of games it starts to get a bit sore, but it’s a case of getting through Saturday now and we’ve got an international break, which will help.
“It’s very pleasing that I’ve made an impression already and that you’re doing things right and that the fans like to see.
“I’ve been quite pleased. It was important to get back playing regularly.
“But the important thing now is not just about me, it’s important the team start picking up points to go with the better performances we’ve had.
“Hopefully there’s a lot more to come from me.”
