BARNSLEY are trialling former Bolton Wanderers defender Ricardo Gardner.
Left-back and wing-back Gardner, who is now a free agent, has trained with the Reds squad this week with a view to a permanent contract.
The 34-year-old has not played a professional match since his contract expired with the Trotters in May last year. However, with regular Reds left-back Scott Golbourne ruled out for the remainder of the season with knee ligament damage, boss Flitcroft is hungry to add cover with league fixtures coming thick and fast in the next two months.
“He’s been training with us,” Reds director Don Rowing confirmed.
