Barnsley have signed Stoke City keeper Jack Butland on a three-month loan deal.
The paperwork between the two clubs is expected to be completed this afternoon, with Butland brought in after first-choice keeper Luke Steele sustained a back injury in training.
Butland, aged 20, won his first full senior international cap for England in August last year, but has yet to make his debut for the Potters.
Instead the highly-rated shot-stopper spent the remainder of last season on loan with his former club Birmingham City, a condition of his £3.3 million deal to sign for Stoke in a four-and-a-half-year deal in January of this year.
An Oakwell insider told The Star: “The paperwork is nearly done, but Jack won’t be at the club until tomorrow.”
Butland is expected to make his Reds’ debut away to Leicester City on Saturday.
