Barnsley defender Jimmy McNulty has joined League One club Tranmere Rovers on a one-month loan deal.
Former Brighton, Stockport and Macclesfield centre-back McNulty has not played a single Championship game for the Reds this season having fund himself down the pecking order with the arrival of new defenders.
Peter Ramage has been brought in on loan from Crystal Palace on a season-long loan, while new signing Jean-Yves M’voto, Tom Kennedy and Martin Cranie have kept McNulty out of the staring line-up.
McNulty has played one game this season, in the Captial One Cup, but his last league appearance for the Oakwell outfit was back in April in a 2-0 home win Hull City.
The 28-year-old defender is the third Reds’ player to have joined Tranmere this season.
Former club captain and centre-back Stephen Foster joined the Merseyside team having not been offered a new contract at Oakwell. He later left by mutual consent.
Winger Andrai Jones also had a brief loan spell with Ronnie Moore’s Prenton Park-based side.
