Barnsley defender Jimmy McNulty has left the club by mutual consent and penned an 18-month contract with League Two strugglers Bury.
The move sees the 28-year-old link up with former Reds chief David Flitcroft and the experienced left-sided player goes straight into their squad for tomorrow’s match with Burton Albion.
Liverpool-born McNulty joined Barnsley on a free transfer in July 2011, making over 60 appearances for the side.
Barnsley midfielder David Perkins is on the verge of joining Blackpool on an 18-month deal, while striker Jason Scotland’s switch north of the border is expected to take place next week.
Meanwhile, the Reds’ last home game of the season against Queen’s Park Rangers has been moved forward from a 3pm kick-off to a 12.15 start.
