Angry Reds boss Danny Wilson felt that his character-filled battlers would have beaten Brighton had Kelvin Etuhu not been harshly sent off in the 76th minute.
The hosts had gone toe to toe with Brighton at Oakwell, and then had Oscar Garcia’s play-off chasers well and truly on the ropes when Ryan McLaughlin headed against the crossbar and Jean-Yves M’voto nodded inches wide,
But once Etuhu had gone off after being shown two yellow cards within the space of three minutes, the chances of a third straight victory were pretty much gone.
A point and a precious clean sheet keeps the Reds’ survival bid on track, but Wilson wasn’t impressed after a game which would have gone his side’s way on most other days.
