The winger has had limited opportunities at Oakwell since making the move from Swansea City.

The 21-year-old has played just 24 minutes, coming off the bench in the last two games.

Hedges provided the assist for Tom Bradshaw’s consolation at Queens Park Rangers in midweek, and that could just be the start for the youngster.

“I think I got a little touch through for Bradders’ goal so I think I made an impact. I thought I did well and hopefully I can build on it,” said Hedges, who was on loan at Yeovil Town before moving to Barnsley.

“I’ve been here a month now and been playing games with the under-23s.

“I’m learning every day, about what the Gaffer (Paul Heckingbottom) wants from me.

“I think I’m getting there.”

The Reds hosts Ipswich Town today having gone four games without a win.
