Welsh international Lewin Nyatanga has this afternoon expressed his delight at returning to Barnsley, writes Dom Howson.
The defender has signed a two-year contract with the Championship club following his departure from Bristol City last month.
It will be the 24-year-old’s FOURTH spell at Oakwell. Nyatanga went on loan to the Reds three times from hometown club Derby County in 2007 and 2008 before moving to Bristol City.
Nyatanga, primarily a centre-half, becomes David Flitcroft’s fourth summer signing. Barnsley have already captured Dale Jennings, Chris O’Grady and Christian Dibble.
He said: “I’ve got really fond memories of my time here.
“I’ve spoken with the manager and he’s so passionate about what they’re trying to do here. There are good things happening here.”
