Barnsley striker Mike Phenix has joined Conference Premier side Southport on loan until 3rd January.
The 26-year-old forward has yet to make his full first-team debut for the Reds, although he was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 3-1 away defeat to Chesterfield.
A former Bolton Wanderers youth team graduate, Phenix featured twice as a sub for the Reds last season and played three games on loan at Macclesfield Town.
“This is the ideal opportunity for Mike to get some game-time under his belt,” revealed Reds boss Lee Johnson.
"I'm sure he'll do well there and we'll be tracking his progress."
