Barnsley have signed former West Ham and Colchester United midfielder George Moncur on a three-year deal.
The 22-year-old was at Oakwell today to put pen to paper on his new contract with fellow former Hammers and U’s player Elliott Lee expected to sign a two-year deal tomorrow.
“I scored 14 goals last season and want to and go higher next season,” said Moncur.
"From the minute I heard Barnsley were interested I wanted to come here.”
Reds boss Paul Heckingbottom added: “George looks ready for the challenge of the Championship and I’m looking forward to him linking up with the squad for pre-season training.
“In addition to his footballing abilities, he’s down to earth, ambitious, hard-working and has the drive and energy to build a successful career in the game.”
