David Flitcroft believes Barnsley must overcome the ”Billy Davies factor” if they are going to beat Nottingham Forest.

The Reds can climb out of the relegation zone today if they win at Forest, opponents who are gunning for a play-off place with three games remaining.

“The Billy Davies factor, wow,” said Flitcroft. “He’s stimulated a team that was under-performing and under-achieving. That’s what Billy’s about...getting players to over-achieve. It’s what we’ve had to do at this club. They’ve got to win the game because they’re at home. But they’ll have to put a shift in against a Barnsley team who don’t know when they’re beaten.”

Flitcroft added: “We’re still in the bottom three, but we’ve got an incredible chance to come out of that on Saturday. We’re staying in this fight. I want to achieve the impossible.”

Defender Rob Edwards (thigh) and midfielder Kelvin Etuhu (hamstring) are back from injury, while left-back Tom Kennedy returns from suspension. Bobby Hassell and Martin Cranie (both hamstring), Stephen Foster (calf), Jimmy McNulty (ankle), Stephen Dawson (suspended), Scott Golbourne (knee) and Paul Digby (hip) are all missing.
