Just three matches were played in the County Senior League, two of them in midweek, and one of these seeing Premier Division hotshots Athersley Rec. recover from a 2-0 deficit to share the spoils with guests Swallownest MW.

Athersley trailed to a double from Chris Esberger, but rallied in the second session when sub. Richard Green came on and scored twice to give Rec. their point.

Penistone Church played out a goalless draw with Wickersley, the League’s top scorer Tim Council failing to tuck away a last minute chance to give Penistone the points in this Division One clash, while in Division Two, Swinton Station took their tally from their last three games to 25 when hammering hosts Clowne Wanderers by 11-1.

Mark Claie followed his four-timer of the previous week with another four goals, Craig Jackson adding a hat-trick, the Swinton club bettering their totals of seven goals netted in each of their previous two matches.
