Birdwell Wheelers, Dan Taylor, Trevor Mayne and Andrew Cutts this week were confirmed as the winners of the prestigious JE James Yorkshire Time Trials Team Competition.

The competition, which has run all season, contained eleven different events and 171 competitors.

Taylor came fourth overall, Mayne was sixth and Cutts finished 13th, enough to earn them the overall team prize.

The prize goes alongside the North Midlands Division Team Championship they also won together earlier on in the year.

On Saturday , Wheeler Dan Kubon took part in his first ever road race, the Tickhill Velo Grand Prix.

The event was on closed roads with hundreds lining the streets to show their support.

He and around ten others quickly became detached from the main group and, despite their efforts, were unable to bridge the gap to the winning bunch.

On Sunday Huntingdon was the venue for the latest LVRC veterans’ road race, and Mayne came sixth overall, finishing fifth in the younger 50-54 age bracket.

Also on Saturday Andy Cutts rode his last 10 mile time trial of the season. On a blustery day on the V718 course at South Cave, he finished in 21m 56s.

Four Wheelers took part in a 65-mile ride organised by Team Cystic Fibrosis.
