Yorkshire get Queen’s Park date for derby

QUEEN’S Park will host Yorkshire’s away fixture against Derbyshire in the County Championship and the pair will also meet at the picturesque Chesterfield venue in a T20 clash.

The rivals, both promoted to the First Division last season, start the four day game on July 17. The T20 meeting is on July 14.

The Festival Cricket week at Queen’s Park will end with a T20 game against Durham on July 21.

Yorkshire start their Division One fixtures against Sussex at Headingley on April 10 and after going to Durham they host Derbyshire on April 29.

Derbyshire’s opening fixtures are away at Warwickshire and Middlesex. The first home game, on April 24, is against Notts at Derby.

*Joe Root has been added to England’s squad for the two T20 matches, the first of them in Pune today. The second one is in Mumbai on Saturday.

James Anderson and Jonathan Trott are rested by England for the five-match ODI series starting on Jan 11. Chris Woakes and Jos Buttler come in. Root isn’t included.
