TORRENTIAL downpours halted the start of the cricket season for yet another week for most clubs with only one game taking place in the Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier League.

None of the local teams were in action on a day which saw the greens doused and only the game between Driffield and Scarborough survived the rain.

Postponed games were Barnsley v Castleford, Harrogate v Rotherham, Hull v Cleethorpes,Sheffield Collegiate v Appleby Frodingham, York v Sheffield United, Yorkshire Academy v Doncaster Town with each team receiving three points.

May 5 fixtures: Yorkshire Academy v Castleford, Cleethorpes v Sheffield Collegiate, Doncaster v Harrogate, Rotherham v Barnsley.
