Warmsworth Spurr-ed on to their first win

DONCASTER Town kept the pressure on leaders Hatfield Town in the All Saints Indoor League as they all but put paid to Barnby Dun’s aspirations.

Dun’s consistent opening pairing of Stewart McPhee and Phil Decent were quickly removed before Jay Horne (25) and Scot Walker (26) steered them to 104-3.

Town’s Ryan Capstick (28), James Dobson (26) and Scot Exley (27) made light work of Dun’s total and won for the loss of one wicket to leave them nine points adrift of the leaders with a game in hand.

Hatfield Town continued to impress with a comfortable win over Askern Welfare. They restricted Welfare to 57 despite some promising batting from Dave Longley (15) and Andrew Lunn (16). Town were rarely troubled by the Askern attack and cruised to victory. Both Andrew Cutts (16) and James Stewart (17) remained not out.

Maltby MW completed a 21-run victory over Hatfield Main as they posted 93-3 thanks mainly to Liam Parker (25) and Phil Fletcher (27). In reply, under-strength Main struggled against the Maltby attack with Liam Parke claiming 2 for 22.

Warmsworth gained their first victory in the competition at the expense of Parklands who had posted a challenging 114-3 (Richard Miller 26, Craig Taylor 23 and Graham Langford 21no). Matthew Spurr (46 not out) and Mark Shanks (31) helped the young Warmsworth sideto a hard-fought win
